Registration

  • This is available to undergraduate and/or graduate alumni/ae of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's. (Note: non-alumni spouses/+ 1/guests are considered "general public" for registration purposes)
  • This includes a pre-paid $125 tax deductible contribution to the student scholarship fund. This is available to ND & SMC alums only.
  • This registration is available to current dues paying members. To take advantage of this discounted registration, go to: www.galandsmc.org/join/ and complete the membership process.
  • Available for ND or SMC current students.
  • Available for ND or SMC recent alums ('17 - '19)
  • Includes a special in-person conversation with Phil Donahue '57 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. This level is limited to 12 people. This also includes special recognition at the event and a $250 prepaid tax deductible contribution to the student scholarship fund.

GALA ND/SMC, is pleased to host the Fifth Annual NYC LGBTQ Student Scholarship Benefit taking place on Sunday November 17, 2019 at 4:00pm.  Join fellow alumni and friends for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and camaraderie to raise money for the LGBTQ Student Scholarship Fund.

   

The benefit will be hosted once again by Phil Donahue ’57 and his wife Marlo Thomas’ at their beautiful apartment overlooking Central Park.  This will be final opportunity to enjoy this fabulous experience in this setting.  Since the fund’s inception, members & friends have contributed over $175,000.  Our goal for this year’s event is to reach the $250,000 five-year target.       

Student Speaker – Joining us for the afternoon will be 2019/2020 Student Scholarship Recipient César MorenoCésar is a senior at Notre Dame majoring in Chemical Engineering, Neuroscience and Behavior, Pre-Med with a minor in Biomolecular Engineering.  They are currently studying abroad in Puebla, Mexico.

Special Guest -  Also joining us will be Fr. James Martin S.J., the 2019 Thomas Dooley Award recipient.  Fr. Martin recently was honored to have a private audience with Pope Francis.

In addition to the main event, there will be a unique opportunity to talk with host Phil Donahue ’57 at a special VIP Reception starting at 3:00pm.

Alumni/ae Registration - Completed registration/payment is required prior to the event.  Discounted registration levels are offered for GALA dues paying members & recent ND/SMC grads.  To ensure the discounted member rate, remember to log in first.  Not a paid member?  Go to GALA Members and sign up.  (Note - Unless otherwise indicated, registration is not recognized as a tax deductible contribution)

Guest/General Public Registration - Due to overwhelming demand non-alumni registrations are limited to guests of select Alumni registration options and the General Public option (currently accepting "wait list" names).  If space is available the wait list will be opened up ~ 1 week prior to the event.

Scholarship Donations – Even if you are unable to attend the benefit, you can still help out by making a tax deductible donation to the scholarship fund here.

Alumni Weekend – This fundraising event will be part of an overall NYC Fall Alumni Weekend.  Additional events are planned over the three days (Friday Nov 15 – Sun Nov 17):

  • Welcome Dinner – Friday November 15th, 7:00PM – Crispo
  • Game Watch – Saturday November 16th, Kickoff 2:30PM - The Ainsworth    
  • Celebration of Mass – Sunday November 17th, 11:30AM – TBD    
  • After Party – Sunday November 17th, 6:30PM – Therapy
