GALA ND/SMC, is pleased to host the Fifth Annual NYC LGBTQ Student Scholarship Benefit taking place on Sunday November 17, 2019 at 4:00pm. Join fellow alumni and friends for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and camaraderie to raise money for the LGBTQ Student Scholarship Fund.
The benefit will be hosted once again by Phil Donahue ’57 and his wife Marlo Thomas’ at their beautiful apartment overlooking Central Park. This will be final opportunity to enjoy this fabulous experience in this setting. Since the fund’s inception, members & friends have contributed over $175,000. Our goal for this year’s event is to reach the $250,000 five-year target.
Student Speaker – Joining us for the afternoon will be 2019/2020 Student Scholarship Recipient César Moreno. César is a senior at Notre Dame majoring in Chemical Engineering, Neuroscience and Behavior, Pre-Med with a minor in Biomolecular Engineering. They are currently studying abroad in Puebla, Mexico.
Special Guest - Also joining us will be Fr. James Martin S.J., the 2019 Thomas Dooley Award recipient. Fr. Martin recently was honored to have a private audience with Pope Francis.
In addition to the main event, there will be a unique opportunity to talk with host Phil Donahue ’57 at a special VIP Reception starting at 3:00pm.

Guest/General Public Registration - Due to overwhelming demand non-alumni registrations are limited to guests of select Alumni registration options and the General Public option (currently accepting "wait list" names). If space is available the wait list will be opened up ~ 1 week prior to the event.
