On Sunday September 17th, the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals is holding their signature pet adoption event Adoptapalooza in Union Square Park (Broadway and East 17th St).
As part of GALA ND/SMC NYC Community Service Program, join other alums and friends to help make this event a success and see many of these pets be adopted by deserving families in NYC.
Volunteers working between 9 am and 1 pm will be most involved with setting up the event — setting up cages for the cat groups, draping tables with plastic covers, and other jobs associated with set up. Volunteers are also called upon to help the groups set up their stations, including meeting their cars curbside to help move their animals to their assigned tents and being on hand to assist them during setup. This is probably the most hectic period for the groups, and so extra hands are always welcome.
We will meet at 8:45am and go to the volunteer tent as a group. At 1pm we will wrap up and head to get brunch somewhere nearby. This event goes on rain or shine, so wear a fun ND tee shirt.
